People who do play on the server know it's not at all p2w unless you care about world first titles or leaderboards (like the prestige one). I'd say if you're not too worried about spending 20-30$.go for it. Population-wise it also seems very healthy (save for the "common" lack of tanks and healers, lol) (Even if it was extremely p2win.as long as you're having a blast, who cares?)ĭidn't have the chance to extensively try their Conquest of Azeroth realm yet.but it looks really interesting and can't wait to see how they "evolve" or "adapt" the new classes to their pre-existing systems. In terms of monetization, I haven't really heard many complaints outside of the fact that seasonal servers can get quite p2w.but on the main server (and what will be Conquest of Azeroth aswell I assume), the few "convenience" items (such as the book pet that lets you skill up wherever) sold there, are usable by everyone and sold at the AH for a relatively cheap price. The systems they implemented (the REs, levelling challenges and such) bring a whole new level of complexity and player creativity to the table, which you'll value even more if you've been playing this game for a long time. I've been trying the server for a while now and, personally, it has been amazing Especially considering what they're doing with it going forward and how far they've come. Expecially now that there's apparently a 3x sale on their "donation" *ahem* currency, with the alpha access being roughly 20-30 bucks (I seem to have free 15 dp from nothing, either because my account's old af or it's just a thing everybody gets). The classless realms aren't too interesting to me - but I've been seeing a lot of videos of Conquest of Azeroth and that has gotten me interested. So, is there any hot tea about it, or should I give it a go and not worry much? It doesn't look like it's going anywhere, doubtful that they'd "cut and run" with the money they've made from people whaling on the cash shop.Īnd the janky, slow website with formatting errors here and there is obviously just a lack of manpower and/or experience, clearly the important systems work fine. It feels sketchy - a lot of things that raise red flags left and right.īUT - and that's a big but - it's been around for quite a few years. Looking through their website, the monetization - it seems standard. I remember when it came out a few years back, I think I even tried it out but didn't have too much fun at the time.
